Admiralty and transportation matters require expertise and experience. Michael A. Snyder and Timothy S. McGovern have both served as United States Coast Guard licensed officers, and have extensive experience in admiralty and transportation litigation.

Michael A. Snyder was again recognized in Chicago magazine as a Superlawyer in transportation law. Mr. Snyder graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and worked as a ship’s officer and later a marine surveyor prior to practicing law. Mr. Snyder is an adjunct professor of admiralty law at the John Marshall Law School, and a proctor member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States.

Timothy S. McGovern received a master’s license in 1996, and served as captain of the M/V Spirit of Chicago on Chicago’s Navy Pier for five years prior to practicing law. Mr. McGovern has extensive experience in claims for damage to cargo, warehousemen’s liability, and insurance and personal injury matters. Mr. McGovern is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States.
